      Vlasievskaya church tower and the Sign - a zdvoenae building near the center of Yaroslavl. Vlasievskaya tower was built in 1659 instead of the wooden, completely burned in a large fire. After the completion of one of the walls of the tower was applied icon of Holy Virgin - one of the most revered icons in Russian Orthodoxy. According to legend, this icon once saved Novgorod from enemies.

      Vlasievskaya tower wore not only a defensive function - during the reign of Peter I, to pass through the gate tower, a man with a beard and lovers of vintage clothing is required to pay proper tribute.

      By Vlasievskaya tower was added a small chapel, which a hundred years was rebuilt in stone. Through a hundred years the chapel was expanded, adorned with gold and made her temple. On one of the walls of the temple depicted icon sign, from what happens the name of the Sign Church.
